I am passionate about teaching that is relevant, engaging, and allows students to learn about contemporary issues while building fundamental skills, like research and writing. My students consistently report that my courses encouraged them to critically analyze the factors that create and shape social inequalities. I am also an experienced mentor and dedicated to helping students navigate and take advantage of all of the opportunities for learning that happen outside of the classroom.
I have taught Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, and Sociology of Gender. Please contact me to request syllabi.
My additional teaching interests include: Reproductive Politics; Research Methods; Sociology of Health & Illness; Science, Technology, & Society; Environmental Sociology; Sociology of the Body; and Sociology of the Family.
